How are Eventbrite fees calculated in Canada?

For Canadian payouts, Eventbrite charges a service fee of 3.5% of the ticket price plus C$1.29 per ticket, plus a payment processing fee of 2.9% of the order total. By default the buyer pays both, so a C$50 ticket costs the buyer C$54.58 and a C$100 ticket C$107.83, before tax. If the organizer absorbs the fees, they net about C$45.51 on a C$50 ticket. The 3.7% + $1.79 rate often quoted is Eventbrite's US rate.

How are Showpass fees calculated?

Showpass charges 1% + C$0.59 per ticket on its Essential plan and 2.5% + C$1.69 on Professional, plus card processing of 2.9% + C$0.30 per paid item. With all fees passed to the buyer, a C$50 ticket costs about C$52.84 on Essential and C$54.69 on Professional.

How are Ticket Tailor fees calculated in Canada?

Ticket Tailor charges C$1.00 per ticket pay-as-you-go (from C$0.38 with prepaid credits), and your payment processor charges separately, for example Stripe at 2.9% + C$0.30. By default the organizer covers both, netting about C$47.25 on a C$50 ticket.

Does Zeffy charge fees?

Zeffy charges no platform or card processing fees and is funded by optional tips from buyers, but it's only for nonprofits and charities.

How are Tickify fees calculated?

Tickify charges a flat 5% booking fee, always paid by the buyer, with payment processing included and no per-ticket charges. On a C$50 ticket the buyer pays C$52.50 and the organizer keeps C$50.

How each platform's fees are calculated

The formulas the calculator uses, with worked examples at C$50 and C$100 a ticket. Standard Canadian rates, in CAD, before GST/HST. Where the organizer chooses who pays, the examples assume fees are passed to the buyer unless noted. Showpass and Ticket Tailor processing is applied to the ticket price, so those totals are approximate.

Eventbrite fees calculator (Canada)

Formula: a service fee of 3.5% of the ticket price + C$1.29 per ticket, plus a payment processing fee of 2.9% of the order total. Both are added to the buyer by default. (3.7% + $1.79 is Eventbrite's US rate.)
