Tickify vs DICE
Both are built for live music and both fight scalpers, in very different ways. Fees, resale, payouts and data for Australian organisers.
Tickify
Organiser keeps 100% of face value. Resale royalty of up to 5% coming soon.
DICE
6.3% service fee (A$5 cap) taken from your ticket price, plus a 1.95% transaction fee added for the buyer. Both plus GST.
Fee comparison
DICE uses all-in pricing: fans see one price at checkout. Behind that price, DICE's 6.3% service fee is included in the ticket price you set, so it comes out of your proceeds, and a 1.95% transaction fee is added on top for the buyer.
Tickify works the other way round. The buyer pays a flat 5% on top of the ticket, and you keep the full ticket price.
Example: 200 tickets at $75 each
On this event the organiser nets about $1,040 more on Tickify. The DICE buyer pays about $2.14 less per ticket. DICE's A$5 cap means the gap stops growing above roughly $80 a ticket.
DICE figures include 10% GST on both fees and use its published self sign-up rates. If you've negotiated a different rate with DICE, use that instead. DICE can also withhold up to 5% of an event's sales for six months to cover chargebacks.
| Fee type | Tickify | DICE (AU self sign-up) |
|---|---|---|
| Fee to organiser | $0, none | 6.3% of face value (A$1 min, A$5 cap) + GST |
| Fee to buyer | 5% flat | 1.95% + GST |
| How price is shown | Ticket price plus 5% at checkout | One all-in price |
| Chargeback holdback | None | Up to 5% of sales for 6 months |
| Free events | No fees | No fees |
Resale and scalping
Both platforms keep tickets away from scalpers. DICE does it with a waiting list: a fan who can't go returns their ticket, and the next fan in line buys it at face value. Tickets live in the DICE app, screenshots aren't accepted at the door, and transfers happen inside the app. DICE's terms let it charge a wait list fee, and the organiser doesn't earn anything on the resale.
Tickify's controlled resale (coming soon) lets tickets resell inside Tickify with what the buyer pays capped at 10% above face value in most of Australia, all fees included. The seller gets their listing price, and the organiser earns up to 5%on every resale at or above face value. Tickets use dynamic QR codes that refresh every 60 seconds, so screenshots don't work.
